Insight SFI Research Centre for Data Analytics, Dublin City University

The Insight SFI Research Centre for Data Analytics is one of the largest data analytics centres in Europe. We are located in a number of the top ranking Irish universities including Dublin City University. Our aim is to help individuals and organisations derive value from data by enabling better decision-making. We offer a national innovation ecosystem to advance Ireland's digital transformation, enabling businesses to make better all-round decisions, backed by data. All of our research is informed by our vision; Empowering Citizens. Smarter Societies.  

Artificial intelligence is one of the most consequential technologies of our time, which can be applied to almost every sector of the economy. Our teams of AI and data science researchers offer a unique opportunity for organisations to partner with award-winning experts in the field, to deliver innovative data-driven solutions to our partners. We support in excess of 450 researchers who are constantly advancing the state-of-the-art in data technologies and applying them to enhance the competitiveness of the companies that we work with. We are enthusiastic about doing more collaborative R&D with interested companies of all sizes ranging from indigenous SMEs to large multinationals, especially in the Fingal region.  

Insight has a strong track record of collaboration with industry. We have worked with over 80 different companies to date. We have flexible models of engagement for companies of all sizes, ranging from shorter engagements to multi-year, multi-site research programmes. We currently have significant financial resources made available by Science Foundation Ireland to support (co-fund) any research collaboration with us. The co-funds are already pre-approved so there’s no extra requirement to apply for the grant.
