Fingal Connects Business Expo
Fingal Connects, a brand-new business-to-business trade exhibition hosted by Fingal Chamber in conjunction with Fingal County Council and the Local Enterprise Office, took place in the Crowne Plaza Dublin Airport on Thursday, May 26th.
A wide variety of businesses and organisations took part in the Expo with almost 50 exhibitors showcasing their products and services throughout the day some of which included The Little Wax Company, Keelings Fruits and Swords Express. As part of the offering on the day, Local Enterprise Office Fingal set up a free of charge business advice clinic with an advisor on hand to consult and assist aspiring Entrepreneurs and small business owners with their business-related queries. Those in attendance were presented with the opportunity to link up with local suppliers and check out the array of products and services on offer. The Expo also acted as a fantastic platform for local entrepreneurs to discover new innovative companies and to network with fellow business owners.
A series of engaging discussions took place over the course of the day as keynote speakers divulged a range of topics including funding sources and supports, cutting business costs, business efficiency, and people and skills. Fingal Chamber President, John O'Donoghue delivered an opening address which was followed up by Helena Humphries and Kenneth Wright both from LEO Fingal who were on hand to discuss the suite of supports which are available to small, local firms. Allyson English from Jigsaw Consultancy later explained the Lean for Micro Programme and emphasised the potential benefits of the programme for small businesses who wish to become more efficient. The Minister of State for Business, Employment and Retail, Damien English was also in attendance as he visited the exhibition stands and met with businesses. The event was concluded as Fingal Chamber Chief Executive, Anthony Cooney and Mayor of Fingal Seána Ó Rodaigh took to the stage to address the crowd to deliver a closing address.
