About the Course
The programme has been designed to give participants the skills and knowledge of the rules and practicalities of running public tender competitions.
This half-day fully online programme covers many aspects of public procurement, ranging from the fundamental rules and principles of public procurement, preparing robust invitation to tender documentation, evaluating tenders received, to recognising the potential for legal challenges to tender outcomes. Participants will have the opportunity to consider aspects of a live tender competition as a worked example.
Course objective
Upon completion of this training, participants will be confident in their ability to:
- Follow the fundamental principles of public procurement
- Prepare appropriate selection and award criteria for tender competitions
- Draft/direct the drafting of tender specifications
- Undertake tender evaluation
- Provide appropriate debriefing information to unsuccessful tenderers
- Recognise the risk of legal challenge to tender competitions
